The Enlisted Aviation branch and insignia were approved in 1983, and the insignia been hallmarked by the U.S. Institute of Heraldry. The insignia displays a propeller in a vertical position between two wings in a horizontal position. The insignia draws upon the original insignia for historical symbolic purposes, but has been modified to signify a new chapter in Army aviation history. The enlisted Aviation insignia is two gold disks, one with the Infantry insignia and the other disk with the superimposed 'U.S.'. Each of the included items is 100% USA Made, measures approximately 1 inch in diameter, and comes with two pins on the back. Enlisted members wear the branch insignia on their collars.
