Iran/Iranian/Persian Dagger Dress Parade Souvenir -Shah Era. These daggers were in existence from late 1940s - 1970s. Overall length 9.5" with a 5.5" blade-which has a red felt buffer pad against brass cross guard. Gold wash ID on blade reads 'Iran' with a (7point star & sword). Has a brass pommel. Black grip, which could be horn or heavy bakelite, is wire wrapped. Has original leather scabbard with a complete keeper strap that buckles. Many of these were brought home by soldiers and tourists from WWII till the collapse of the shah in 1979. Exceptionally nice dagger. Study photos carefully, . postage.
